With HØST's debut EP already unleashed to the masses, we caught up with Harry on his 'Influences'.
Bel Air Project - Majik
'I heard this song years ago & is one which I could and usually do play every day, regardless of mood. I love the breaks, bass, the slow drone like pad in the background. I find this track overly nostalgic and it is the type of song which makes you want to lay in the sun all day, drink in hand and just max out.'
Tsuruda - F*cks 2 Give
'Tsuruda is hands down one of my favourite producers; this is one of my most frequented tracks of his. The lo-fi darkness in this is completely my poison; this whole release easily influencing a lot of my music.'
Eprom - Beasts of Babylon
'This one from Eprom blew me away when I first heard it. The mad bass on the drop made me reload the track a ridiculous amount of times - at the time I was producing a lot more 140 work, but also more steppy drum and bass. After I heard the ‘Half-Life’ It made me look at my production style in a different way and what you could do with sounds to make the music I wanted to make. '
House of Pharaohs - DRAWS
'When I heard this beat I didn’t stop rinsing it for ages. I really rate the UK version of the trap/drill sound and I think this song absolutely bangs. Minimal, but heavily lead by the 808’s ! Just pure gas.'
TNGHT - Bugg'n (Hudson Mohawke x Lunice)
'What can I say about this track more than it is banging, everything about the Hud Mo X Lunice link up of TNGHT is sick, however this one for me was the creme de la creme. This song was the soundtrack to my summer when it came out. Play this anywhere and it pops off. '
